Don’t get me started writing about the horrors of the Trump administration, especially in stream of consciousness, because it would go on for pages and pages and be incredibly painful to read.
Nobody needs that, especially because it wouldn’t be helpful in making changes that are needed to protect lives.
I’m sending prayers and well wishes to all those protesting and speaking out against the autocracy and evil that has befallen the US and afflicted so many here and across the world. While very few of us have any real power in the government, I believe our numbers will eventually prevail to get us back on a path that honors our Constitution and laws and our highest ideals for equality, compassion, and care for all people and our common home, the earth.
Stay strong but remember that, when you need to rest, others are there to carry on until you can rejoin the effort. Although I wish we could get to a better state of affairs quickly, this is going to be a marathon, not a sprint.

I agree this will be a marathon, Joanne. This has to change with the November elections and turning the House and Senate blue. We have to do this!

Yes! Meanwhile, I’m glad that Congressional Repbulicans are finally stepping on a few issues. It looks like they may reverse a lot of the cuts to science funding that DT made.

Thank you for this positive message. Prayers and wishes are within our control as well as resting to take care of ourselves for the marathon. We can also support representatives and candidates who can help us get back to a place of honor and sanity.

Yes, to all those things. i’m fortunate to have representatives right now who listen to reason most of the time. The House race here is going to be brutal. We are a rare, actual swing district and were the most expensive House race in the country last cycle. It’s shaping up to be another go-round this year and I’ve been supporting my Rep. in my own small way. He doesn’t take PAC money so we grass-roots folks keep him going.
