  1. As soon as I read this, I reached into a nearby jar and picked out a random paperclip. It turned out to be a pink one, so to me it symbolizes that solidarity should be inter-gender, inter-racial, etc.

    1. Yes! Unity and solidarity are for everyone. I believe that one of our great strengths in the US is that we have such a fantastic range of people with so many individual gifts and attributes that they offer to our communities. Every person has inherent dignity and is precious. (I’m drifting off into Catholic social justice doctrine here, too, but it all fits together.)
