WordPress editor

Is anyone else having problems with the WordPress editor? Sometimes, when I’m working on a draft, it won’t let me go back to a previous paragraph to make edits. It seems to freeze on the paragraph I’m in. To get out of it, I usually have to look at a preview of the post and hit edit from there to open it in a new tab.

I’ve tried asking WordPress for help but no luck so far. Just wondering if others are seeing this happen.

  1. Are you using the block editor (or whatever it’s called) or the classic editor? I’m still holding onto the classic editor. Classic editor is becoming progressively more annoying to use. Is WP doing that deliberately to get me to switch to the block editor? I sometimes believe so.

I haven’t switched to the block editor, because of the way my brain works. I’ve practiced with the block editor on a website that I’ve unpublished. I have such a hard time visualizing where the invisible ‘blocks’ go in the post.

So, to respond to your question… Yes. I’m experiencing problems with WP. 🤷‍♀️

    1. Sorry for your troubles, Kaye. I am using the block editor and have been for quite a long time now. I think there have been some changes recently with trying to integrate AI, which I avoid like the plague. I hate that the simplest thing, like putting my cursor into a different place on the page, is causing it to freeze up on me.

    2. I’m still learning how to use WordPress block editor. To be honest I really do miss WordPress classic editor. It made editing one’s site so much simpler.
