I’m still in a back-and-forth with WordPress about how to get my author site and blog configured correctly.
You may have had trouble accessing my latest posts yesterday due to a change they made. I’ve reverted back to the prior settings, which aren’t optimal but are functional.
If you missed yesterday’s post, you can find it here.

Is WordPress your host as well as your web platform? I’ve heard they are not the most helpful as far as tech support.

Yes. Last September, I upgraded my free blog account to have a domain and I’m still trying to get things straight. I never seem to get anything other than follow these instructions that are not working. A couple of times in this latest spate of inquiries they’ve made a change that has broken my links which is annoying.
I may be forced to delete my header image and use my author headshot in a pinned post with my main author page with the blog posts below. It’s so frustrating.

The other thing you might want to consider is to separate your registration from you hosting, and then move hosts to one who has better tech support. I keep my domains registered with Name Silo, which is reasonable, and they also have a great reputation for domain registration. My host is A2, who serves my needs and is great (most of the time) about helping me with tech issues. I have friends who are happy with BlueHost and DreamHost. I prefer to keep the domain registration and the hosting platform separate because then the host can’t hold the domain hostage (like 1 & 1 did a few years back).

Thanks, Devon. It’s not something I can manage at the moment but I will keep it in mind for the future.
