“The purpose of the conspiracy was to overturn the legitimate results of the 2020 presidential election by using knowingly false claims of election fraud to obstruct the federal government function by which those results are collected, counted, and certified.”
~ Paragraph 7 of the extremely sobering conspiracy and obstruction indictment of Donald Trump regarding the 2020 election results, which you can read in its entirety here.

I Know. That’s why I keep trying to encourage people to read indictments and look at evidence, as a jury will have to do. It’s disconcerting that so many Rep. officeholders are refusing to even read it.

I’m glad for the indictment, but every revelation is more horrifying. They’ve got to stop letting that vicious insurgent run around and make speeches. He needs to be in prison.

One of the silver linings in all his posting and speaking, though, is that he continues to incriminate himself. Given that his lawyers will never put him on the stand, the prosecution can use what he has said as evidence in the trials.

I keep thinking there’s got to be a tipping point when republicans as a whole wake up and recognize the truth.

I’m afraid there isn’t “republicans as a whole” anymore. Most of the traditional conservatives have left the party or are keeping quiet and voting on the party line in service of the big businesses who want to make lots of money while not paying fair taxes or being subject to regulations. They have the Trump voters so misinformed and fearful that they don’t even know what is in the indictment. For example, many Republicans are saying that the indictment is about criminalizing free speech, when, near the beginning of it, explains that it is not a free speech case but is about actions that Trump took. Some of the former Trump voters have woken up but only a small sliver.
