102!

Today, I made it up and over the 100 follower mark! I know Top of JC’s mind is still a tiny blog, but it is a lot bigger than a few months ago. Sending out thanks to all my followers, commenters, and visitors from 27 countries – how cool is that? – for making this a rewarding experience for me.

Peace,
JC

  1. #YayBananas – I love the breakdown of countries. It still delights me to see that through our posts and blogs we are able to interact and sometimes very meaningfully with people from literally ALL AROUND the world!

    Congratulations πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks! I appreciate that other bloggers share in the delights of international connection and indulge my excitement, even when their blogs have much more impressive stats than mine. Still, every bigger blog had to pass through the level I am now, however long ago and quickly.

      1. I think irrespective of the stats, the most important part of the blogging journey is that you’re getting what you want out of it.

The times that I am here (unpredictable) I want to connect with people – that can happen through their blog or my blog or even someone else’s blog.. lol

If you are anything like me, and love that interaction – then is no point having 30,000 followers if you don’t ever engage or interact in a meaningful way with any of them. Smaller numbers sometimes means a dedicated group of blog readers and that can be more appealing for some πŸ™‚

      2. I can’t quite imagine managing a large blog, but at this point I am just beginning to connect with people who actually comment or like my posts; it’s still relatively rare for me to get comments on my posts. I like writing posts the most at this point, although that may be partly a reflection of that being what occupies most of my writing time. I do have a subset of the blogs that I follow that I get email notifications on, so those are the ones that are most likely for me to like or comment on. I also read posts of people that like my posts or comments and have found most of the blogs I follow by this networking method.

I’m not sure what the future will hold. I’m anticipating a shift in the way my life is organized soon, so I may have more time to devote to blogging. At that point, I’ll need to decide if I want to put more energy and time into building readership. I know I can follow OM’s advice to build up the size of my following, if that is what I decide I want. It is, as you say, deciding what appeals to me.

Meanwhile, I do sometimes feel sheepish celebrating milestones that others consider too insignificant to remark. I’m glad you are celebrating with me!
